Sugarbush Season

The Maple syrup season begins late February and ends in early April. It is one of the best seasons on the farm - the forest is gradually waking from its winter slumber; life begins to emerge in the form of green plants on the forest floor, frogs in the pond, and birds overhead returning home for the warmer season. And this is the time when the maples give the remarkable gift of maple sap!

Join us at Heartwood this season to experience these transformations, and to learn a bit about maple syrup is made - today, and in times gone by. You'll learn a bit, and taste as much as you want.

This year, we're offering tours for adults, and also, tours more appropriate for kids that include a trip to the barn to meet the animals as well. And for those wanting to explore a deeper side of the emergent forest in spring, we're offering a retreat that is intended to connect to this moment in the cycle of nature's unfolding.

Explore below. We hope to see you this spring.
